Developed by RE:Vision Effects, ReelSmart Motion Blur is a proprietary plugin that analyzes the motion vectors within a video clip or composition. Unlike simple directional blurs, RSMB uses sophisticated optical flow technology to detect how each pixel moves between frames. It then generates an adaptive, per-pixel motion blur that mimics the shutter behavior of a physical camera.

Unlike plugins that simply blur a direction, RSMB analyzes the optical flow between frames. It intelligently handles occlusions (objects passing behind others) and complex rotational blurs.

Create a new composition, right-click a layer, and navigate to Effect > RE:Vision Effects > ReelSmart Motion Blur. If you see the interface (not a red X or watermark), you have successfully installed v6.4.4. ReelSmart Motion Blur RSMB v6.4.4.zip

This is the hidden gem of v6.4.4. You can create a grayscale mask to tell RSMB where to apply blur. For example, a character’s legs might need heavy blur, but their static head needs none.
