Miami’s elite gather at the Del Monte Derby. Sebastián is about to sign the ranch over to developers—against his father’s dying wish. In the back stables, Valentina soothes a trembling, abused stallion named Tormenta. She steals hay to feed him.
When Tormenta bolts during the derby’s main event, Valentina leaps onto his back bareback and calms him in front of hundreds of horrified guests. Sebastián watches, mesmerized.
Isabella demands Valentina be arrested for trespassing. Doña Sofía, however, sees Valentina’s gift and offers her a deal: work as the ranch’s head horse whisperer for six months, and Sofía will help find Javi.
But the will’s deadline looms. With one month left, Sebastián confesses he’s about to lose everything. Valentina, desperate to stay in the country to find Javi, blurts out in front of a judge: “We’re engaged.”
The tabloids explode: “Ranch Heir’s Secret Mexican Fiancée.”
