  • Install CH341A driver v1.4 (not the one from the mini CD).
  • Use USB 2.0 port only (USB 3.0 often fails to detect the chip).

    Yes, but with heavy caveats. The famous VAG K+ Commander 1.4 / 2.5 is NOT an EEPROM programmer via USB—it works via the OBD2 port (K-Line). However, for EEPROM-specific tasks, K+ Commander is inferior because it cannot read a dead cluster.

  • Edit: You can usually open the saved file in the built-in hex editor or a separate program to modify mileage, VIN, or Immoblizer data.
