Super Mamono Sisters V104 Shimofumiya Exclusive -

At first glance, it’s just a CD with a sticker. But collectors and data miners have uncovered three critical differences that separate this exclusive from even other v104 copies (such as the “Web Pre-Release” v104).

The term "Exclusive" in the context of Shimofumiya’s work usually refers to content locked behind specific conditions or distributed via specific channels (such as Ci-en or limited DL-site editions).

A. In-Game Unlockables (The "Sisters"): The core hook of the game is unlocking various "sister" characters. In v1.04, the roster is substantial. "Exclusive" characters or skins often require:

B. Shimofumiya Distribution Exclusives: Shimofumiya often releases "Side Stories" or "Bonus CGs" on their Ci-en (Japanese Patreon equivalent) page. If the file you are looking at mentions "Exclusive," it may contain:

Standard v104, even as the “uncut” version, still had one self-imposed censorship: the final form of the final boss was palette-swapped to reduce contrast. The Shimofumiya exclusive uses a raw binary that completely reverses this, resulting in a boss sprite that is significantly more detailed (and, depending on your perspective, more disturbing). This has led to the version being unofficially dubbed the “Full Uncut” edition. super mamono sisters v104 shimofumiya exclusive

Version numbers in doujin circles are rarely arbitrary. For Super Mamono Sisters, v104 represents a specific build released in late 2012. Unlike later versions (v105, v106, and the “Definitive Edition” from 2015), v104 is considered the “original uncut” build.

Key features of v104 include:

Most importantly, v104 is the only version of the game that contains the full, unedited “Night Terrors” ending, which was later censored for mainstream distribution on platforms like DLSite and Fanza.

Because the run was only 500 physical copies and many were thrown away or damaged over a decade ago, intact copies are exceedingly rare. In 2023, a sealed copy sold on a Japanese Yahoo auction for ¥482,000 (approx. $3,200 USD). Loose discs (without the manual or sticker) still fetch around ¥80,000 ($530 USD). At first glance, it’s just a CD with a sticker

However, a word of caution: The Super Mamono Sisters v104 Shimofumiya Exclusive has become a target for counterfeiters. Since the game’s base files leaked online in 2014, forgers have printed fake Shimofumiya CDs and manuals. Authentication tips:

The jewel case includes a 12-page black-and-white manual. On page 8, there is a handwritten-style note (printed, not actually handwritten) that provides a cheat code: Up, Down, Left, Right, A, B, C, Start on the title screen. Inputting this code in only the Shimofumiya exclusive toggles “God Mode” (invincibility), a feature completely absent from all other v104 builds.

To understand the “Exclusive” label, we must look at Shimofumiya (Romanized often as Shimofumiya or Shimo-fumiya). This is not a developer, but a legendary brick-and-mortar and online retailer based in Akihabara, Tokyo. Specializing in “rare and unusual” doujin goods, Shimofumiya is famous for making exclusive deals with small circles to sell physical, limited-run copies of games that are never released digitally.

Shimofumiya exclusives are known for three things: Most importantly, v104 is the only version of

The Super Mamono Sisters v104 Shimofumiya Exclusive was released as a physical CD-ROM in a run of just 500 copies during Comiket 83 (Winter 2012).

Within the Mamono fan community, v104 is polarizing.

The Pro-V104 Argument: It is the definitive single-player experience. The exclusive dungeon features a boss fight against "Shimofumiya-shi" (a caricature of the store owner) that has written dialogue not found in any other version. Speedrunners have created a separate leaderboard category: "v104 Shimofumiya Any%."

The Anti-V104 Argument: Because the build is locked and exclusive, it creates an artificial meta. Online co-op is dead, since most players own v105 (the public patch that removed the exclusive content but fixed a game-breaking softlock). Furthermore, the exclusive familiars cannot be traded or transferred, leading to a "gated" completion percentage.

One prominent YouTuber, RetroRyun, famously called it "the most unethical exclusive in doujin history" after paying $400 for a copy only to discover his save file would not sync with the standard version.
