The new Papyrus compiler in 1.6.x is, ironically, less stable for complex, legacy scripts. Many long-term modders have reported string-table corruption and stack dumps on 1.6.x that simply do not occur on 1.5.97. USSEP for 1.5.97 was designed for the original, slower, but more predictable compiler.
