Service Pack 6 For Visual Basic 6.0 Download May 2026

Service Pack 6 is the last fully released service pack for VB6. It includes all previous updates (SP3 through SP5) plus critical fixes for:

After installing SP6, you must also manually register several OCX controls that Windows 10 blocks by default. Open an elevated Command Prompt and run: ⚠️ Note: Microsoft no longer offers VB6 SP6

A: The primary file is VB60SP6Setup.exe (or VB6.0-KB290887-AMD64.exe). The cumulative update for the runtime is MDAC_TYP.EXE (but that relates to data components).
