Sahadeva Arooda Chakra -

The deity associated with the Sahasrara Chakra is often considered to be Sahasrara itself or, in some traditions, Lord Shiva. The associated planet is Saturn, which represents spiritual discipline and higher awareness.

  • Consider the Day’s Nakshatra: More advanced practitioners use the current nakshatra as a multiplier or anchor, creating a dynamic wheel that changes every ~60 minutes.
  • In some South Indian astrological traditions (particularly in Tamil Nadu and Kerala), there exists a Sahadeva Chakra (sometimes called Sahadeva Arooda Chakra). It is a tool used for:

Step 1: Determine the Lagna (Ascendant) Lord’s position. Note the sign and degree.

Step 2: Determine the 7th Lord’s position. (Marriage/Partnership house). sahadeva arooda chakra

Step 3: The Arooda is NOT derived from Lagna alone. Instead, Sahadeva taught that:

"The Sahadeva Arooda is the sign that results when you add the longitude of the 10th Lord to the longitude of the Lagna, then subtract the 7th Lord’s longitude, and project the result from the Moon."

(Note: In practical classical application, astrologers often use a simplified "Sign-based" chakra.) The deity associated with the Sahasrara Chakra is

    Chart Data:

    Parashari method:
From H1 (Gemini) to Mercury (Virgo) = 4 signs. From Mercury, count 4 signs: Virgo → Libra → Scorpio → Sagittarius → Capricorn. So Parashari Arudha Lagna = Capricorn.

    Sahadeva method:

Interpretation: The worldly projection of the self is more secretive, intense, and transformative (Scorpio) than the actual mutable, intellectual self (Gemini rising).

The calculation of the Sahadeva Arooda Chakra differs significantly from standard Jaimini Pada. There are three primary methods described in Jyotisha Ratnakara, but the most accepted classical method is the "Bhava-Gati" (House Motion) system.

Sahadeva Arooda cannot be read in isolation. Sahadeva insisted on checking Go-sthana (The Cattle House – 5th and 9th houses). Consider the Day’s Nakshatra : More advanced practitioners

Nakshatra Consideration: Sahadeva uniquely assigned Dashas (time periods) based on the Arooda’s Nakshatra, not the Moon’s. For example, if your Sahadeva Arooda is in Rohini Nakshatra (Taurus), your major rise in status happens during a Rohini-Moon transit or Venus Dasha.
