The Epson L3210 is a popular EcoTank all-in-one printer known for its low-cost refillable ink tanks. However, like all inkjet printers, it will eventually prompt you to perform resets—either for ink levels or the maintenance box (waste ink pad). Modern inkjet printers are designed with maintenance safeguards. The Epson L3210 performs periodic cleaning cycles to keep printheads unclogged. This excess ink is directed into absorbent pads located at the base of the printer. To prevent these pads from overflowing and leaking ink onto the user's desk, the printer firmware counts the cleaning cycles. Note: This section describes the general workflow of the Epson L3210 Adjustment Program.

Phase 1: Entering Service Mode Some Epson models require the printer to be placed in "Service Mode" before the software will communicate with it. While the L3210 often connects directly via USB, if the utility fails to detect the printer, the following sequence is typically used:

Phase 2: Utilizing the Adjustment Program

  • Finalization: The software will prompt to turn the printer off. Turn the printer off, wait 10 seconds, and turn it back on. The counter should now be reset to zero.
  • Use when: Printer shows alternating blinking lights (usually Power & Error) or software reports "Waste Ink Pad is full." Critical Warning: Resetting the counter without physically cleaning/replacing the pad will cause ink overflow, damaging the printer and desk.
