To understand the RVA 2015, we must go back. The original Reina Valera was published in 1569 by Casiodoro de Reina and revised in 1602 by Cipriano de Valera. Over centuries, multiple societies produced updates to modernize the language while retaining the formal equivalence translation style.
The Reina Valera Actualizada (RVA) is a distinct revision line, first published in 1989 by the Sociedades Bíblicas Unidas (United Bible Societies). It aimed to update archaic Spanish grammar and vocabulary without abandoning the traditional Reina Valera textual base.
