The error code 001522 (often displayed as "Registration/Activation Error 001522" or involving the term "top") is a client-side or network-level fault that prevents a user from authenticating a software license. In the vast majority of cases, this is associated with The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) when the game client cannot communicate with the account server to verify login credentials or entitlements.
Most software stores a local copy of activation data. If this cache becomes corrupted due to a sudden power loss, improper shutdown, or disk error, the activation sequence will fail, throwing Error 001522 Top.
