Sakura dodged a blast of corrupt data. She grabbed the edge of an open PDF file, swinging it like a shield to block a virus projectile. The PDF shattered, but she landed safely on the Taskbar. She looked up at the massive red vortex dominating the center of the screen.
"I need a path to the Core," she shouted. "I can't reach the source code from here!"
"I'll make a path," Elias said. He opened the Command Prompt. He wasn't a master hacker, but he knew his system better than any generic virus. He began typing a batch script designed to isolate the process. "I’m going to quarantine the Desktop Window Manager. It’s going to crash the UI temporarily. You’ll have about three seconds of freefall."
"It’s enough," Sakura said, tightening her grip on her blade. "Do it."
Elias hovered over the Enter key. "On my mark. 3... 2... 1..."
He slammed the key.
The screen went black. The blue power LED on the tower blinked rapidly. For a second, there was total silence, the kind that makes a gamer's heart stop.

Most PC 7thDream Collection downloads are packaged with an older version of the M.U.G.E.N engine (1.0 or 1.1 beta). These older engines lack optimized sprite caching. When Sakura performs her Shououken (rising uppercut) or Haru Ichiban (super kick), the engine fails to pre-load the explosion sprites, resulting in a "poor" fight experience.
