Nightmaretaker Walkthrough | Repack

The repack changes the infamous "clothes puzzle" to be less random.

Goal: Find 3 missing patient gowns.

Reward: The Master Key to the East Wing.

There is no fighting in The Nightmare Taker. You can only hide.

The Surgeon enemy patrols this circular room. The repack adds a new hiding spot: a gurney with a sheet over it.

Strategy:

Enter 2115. Take the Anesthesia. Spray it on the Surgeon when he passes the gurney. Instant stun. Run to the staircase.

Objective: Learn extraction basics.
Walkthrough:

Puzzle 1.1 – Orchard Gate

  • Warning: The Taker spawns after you collect the second orb. Hide in the barn until it passes.
  • Extraction: Return to the patient’s bedside. Press E to complete. You’ll see her vitals stabilize.

Since you’re playing a repack, you have access to the configuration file. Navigate to:
    C:\Users\[YourName]\Documents\NightmaretakerRepack\settings.ini nightmaretaker walkthrough repack

Change these lines to reduce frustration (backup the original first):

Do not touch true_difficulty=Nightmare unless you want enemies to respawn immediately after death.

  • Final room – The Anchor Chamber – Place the pages on the pedestal in order of: Fear → Regret → Longing. Wrong order resets the puzzle.
  • Chapter 1 boss: None – but failing the anchor sequence triggers a chase sequence. Sprint toward the white door, do not look back.

Objective: Extract your own nightmare (plot twist: Lucian is also comatose).

Goal: Defeat the Nightmare King without breaking the “Lucid Vow”.

This chapter tests everything you’ve learned. The repack version fixes a bug where the king would one-shot you after phase 2.

This is a maze. In the original, it was literally pitch black. In the repack, there is a dim lantern light.
