Minecraft | 1.21 Beta

As with any test build, the Minecraft 1.21 beta has teething problems:

While combat gets the spotlight, redstone engineers are losing their minds over the Crafter. This is the first auto-crafting block added to vanilla Minecraft.

How it works in the 1.21 beta:

Implications: Fully automatic tree farms that craft planks. Bamboo-to-stick factories. Self-replenishing gold farms that craft golden apples. The Crafter alone makes 1.21 a mandatory update for technical players.

The 1.21 Beta cycle introduced a combat-focused, end-game oriented expansion. Unlike 1.20’s cosmetic focus, this beta prioritized dungeon challenges, auto-crafting, and weapon diversity. The Minecraft 1.21 beta also tweaks the early game. Bad Omen (from pillager captains) no longer triggers a raid immediately. Instead, it triggers a Trial Omen if you enter a Trial Chamber, making the spawners harder and more rewarding. Raids now require drinking an ominous bottle to start.

Found exclusively in Trial Chambers, the Breeze is a fast, jumpy elemental (air-based) mob. It attacks by shooting Wind Charges—projectiles that deal no direct damage but explode with a knockback shockwave. Being hit by a Breeze can knock you off ledges or into traps. Next to the Trial Spawner, you will often find a Vault. This is a new utility block that requires a Trial Key to unlock. Keys drop from Trial Spawners after victory. When you use a key on a Vault, it spits out high-tier loot—enchanted diamond gear, wind charges, and heavy cores.

Critically, every player in the party can loot the same Vault once. No more fighting over the chest.
