The Good: The lighting in v0.40.5 is stellar. ImpactXPlay has finally figured out how to use volumetric lighting. The library scenes look like a Renaissance painting—dust motes in the sunbeams, realistic wood textures on the desks.
The Bad: Facial expressions. While the models are beautiful, the "surprised" and "angry" expressions still occasionally veer into uncanny valley territory. A character who is supposed to be crying sometimes looks like she is having an allergic reaction.
Performance: The game ran smoothly on a mid-tier rig (GTX 1660, 16GB RAM). Load times between scenes are roughly 2–3 seconds. No crashes were reported during our playthrough, which is a win for Ren'Py-based heavy sandboxes.
Fans are praising the "Raven" route as the best writing ImpactXPlay has produced. The humor is sharper, and the romantic tension is more organic than the main heroine routes. Additionally, the removal of the grinding mechanics (you no longer need to click "Study" 50 times) has been welcomed.
