Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon Ek Jashn Episode 1

It sets up a classic enemies-to-lovers/revenge-turned-love trope, but with a much darker, more psychological tone than the original series. The first episode establishes Advay as a villainous hero (anti-hero) and Chandni as his unsuspecting target.

Verdict: Episode 1 is a strong, gripping premiere that hooks you with mystery, Barun Sobti’s intense performance, and the promise of a high-voltage emotional drama.

The first scene of Episode 1 is a masterclass in nostalgia. The camera pans to a sleeping Arnav Singh Raizada, looking as sharp as ever, but now with a softness around his eyes—a quiet contentment. Beside him, Khushi is found sleep-talking, mumbling about malai chaap and payal ki dhun. In a callback to the original series, Arnav wakes up, irritated yet amused, and utters his iconic line: “Khushi Kumari Gupta, tum subah subah pagalpan ki dukan khol deti ho” (You open a madness shop every morning).

Fans erupted. It was the same Arnav, same Khushi, but evolved. The episode immediately establishes that their chemistry hasn’t aged a day. The banter is sharper, the teasing more intimate, and the silences more meaningful.

No IPKKND episode is complete without a legendary dialogue. In Episode 1, Arnav delivers a new classic. When Khushi says, “Main tumhe aur kisi ke saamne girne nahi dungi” (I won’t let you fall in front of anyone), Arnav replies with a smirk: “Tumse pehle koi mujhe gira hi nahi sakta, Khushi. Kyunki tumne toh mujhe sambhalna sikha diya.” (No one could make me fall before you, Khushi, because you taught me how to stand tall.)

The writing is crisp, mature, and deeply affectionate. It respects the original’s intensity but adds a layer of marital warmth. iss pyaar ko kya naam doon ek jashn episode 1

Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon Ek Jashn Episode 1 is a comfort watch. It is the equivalent of a warm blanket on a cold day. It doesn't try to shock you with twists; instead, it invites you back into the home of two characters who defined a generation of Indian romance.

The episode ends on a cliffhanger involving the setup for their romantic night, leaving the viewer eager to press play on the next installment. If you were a fan of the original, this episode validates your loyalty. It tells you: "Yes, they made it. Yes, they are happy. And yes, it was all worth it."

Rating: ★★★★★ (5/5) - Pure nostalgia served with a side of sizzling chemistry.

Note: This is the 2017 reboot/sequel season, often called "Season 2" or "Ek Jashn," starring Barun Sobti as Advay Singh Raizada and Shivani Tomar as Chandrika "Chandni" Mathur. It is not to be confused with the original 2011 series (Sanaya Irani & Barun Sobti). The first scene of Episode 1 is a masterclass in nostalgia

The episode ends on a high-stakes note. On the night of the gala, as Arnav and Khushi dance to a reprised version of “Tum Hi Ho” (not the original IPKKND song, but a new romantic track), Aryan Khanna crashes the party with a file. In front of all guests, he announces: “Arnav Singh Raizada, let me introduce everyone to the real reason behind your first marriage to Khushi Kumari Gupta. It wasn’t love. It was revenge.”

Freeze frame on Arnav’s stoic face, Khushi’s shocked eyes, and the guests murmuring.

The episode ends without a resolution, leaving fans desperate for Episode 2. But the cliffhanger works not as a gimmick, but as a callback to the original show’s dramatic entry sequences.

Introduction: The Return of the Iconic Pair

For millions of Indian television viewers, the names Arnav Singh Raizada and Khushi Kumari Gupta are not just characters—they are an emotion. The original series, Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon (IPKKND), which aired from 2011 to 2012, created a cult following with its intense romance, sharp dialogues, and the electrifying chemistry between Barun Sobti (Arnav) and Sanaya Irani (Khushi). After years of fan demands, speculations, and a successful digital reboot (the web series Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon 3), the makers decided to gift the audience something truly special: Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon: Ek Jashn — a celebratory mini-series. Did you watch the first episode of Ek Jashn

Ek Jashn (meaning "A Celebration") premiered its first episode on [insert date/platform, e.g., Disney+ Hotstar]. Within hours, the episode broke the internet, trending on social media platforms as fans old and new tuned in to witness the magic once more. But what exactly made Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon: Ek Jashn Episode 1 such a monumental event? Let’s break down every moment.

The crux of Episode 1 revolves around a specific event: their wedding night, or Suhaagraha. In the original series, due to the high-stakes drama and contractual marriage, Arnav and Khushi never really got the romantic, stress-free wedding night they deserved.

This episode seeks to rectify that. It is a setup for romance. Arnav is planning something special, trying to balance his "Laad Governor" personality with his deep, vulnerability-laced love for his wife. Meanwhile, Khushi is her usual mix of nervous and excited.

It is a delight to see Arnav trying to be romantic. In the TV show, his romance often came with arrogance or anger. Here, in Ek Jashn, we see a softer, more mature Arnav who wants to make his wife happy. He is still bossy, yes, but it’s charming now rather than intimidating.
