When Inazuma Eleven GO Chrono Stone Cap 1 aired, it divided the fanbase. Some purists hated the sci-fi shift. But most embraced it because it solved a major problem: How do you raise the stakes after saving the world once?

The answer was time travel. By introducing temporal erasure, the writers made every match a life-or-death scenario. Furthermore, Cap 1 recontextualizes the entire franchise. Every legendary player from the original Inazuma Eleven (Mark Evans, Axel Blaze, Jude Sharp) now becomes a "target" for recruitment. The episode teases that to defeat the future, Tenma must master the past.

The final shot of the episode is Fei looking at her broken pocket watch. A tear rolls down her cheek. She whispers the title of the next episode: “The Legend of the God Striker.” In the club room, talk to Jean-Pierre Lapin

That "God Striker" is none other than Arion Sherwind's grandfather—a character who would redefine the series.

Fei Rune is arguably the most important new character introduced in Inazuma Eleven GO Chrono Stone Cap 1. She is not a rival player, nor a villain. She is a lost child from the future. Her design—a green ponytail, a tattered cape, and desperate eyes—immediately sets her apart from the usual hot-blooded soccer players.

Fei is disoriented, scared, and speaking in riddles. She grabs Tenma’s arm and asks a question that changes everything: “Where is the soccer team? We don’t have much time. The children are disappearing.”

It is here that Inazuma Eleven GO Chrono Stone Cap 1 reveals its core premise. Fei explains that she belongs to an organization called the "El Dorado Team 05" (later just "El Dorado"). Her mission is to travel back to the past to recruit the strongest soccer players in history. Why? Because in the future, soccer has been weaponized, and a mysterious force is erasing great players from the timeline itself.

If a player is erased from the past, they never exist in the future. This is the "Chrono Stone" mechanic—the idea that history is a fragile stone that can be shattered.
