Operating System:
Windows Script Host is entirely dependent on (32 bits) Windows, so you'll need Windows 98 or later.
Interpreter:
For WSH, the interpreter or engine is installed by default in Windows 2000 and later versions.
For the sake of compatibility, however, it is still recommended to download and use only the latest WSH version (5.7 for Windows 2000/XP/Server 2003, 5.6 for older Windows versions).
WSH 5.7 is native in Windows Vista, WSH 5.8 in Windows 7 and later.
Development software:
Several editors, IDEs and query and code generators are available for WSH based languages.
I also recommend downloading the script debugger: Once you get to know the language(s), you may want to explore the list of add-ons and components I compiled.
And last but not least, for debugging your VBScript code, read my debugging VBScript page.
Help files:
Download the WSH 5.6 Documentation in .CHM format, and Microsoft's VBScript Quick Reference in Word format.
More online documentation can be found on the MSDN Scripting page.
Books:
I compiled a short list of books on WSH and VBScript.
Samples:
Start by examining sample scripts and exploring other WSH and VBScript related sites.

Macmillan is increasingly moving toward digital ecosystems. The newest editions of Gateway A2 integrate with Navio, a gamified learning platform. On Navio, students receive instant feedback—essentially, dynamic answer keys that adapt to their errors.

Furthermore, AI tools like ChatGPT can generate answers for Gateway A2 exercises if you type the prompt in. For example: "Here is a fill-in-the-blank exercise from Gateway A2 Unit 5 about 'going to' future: 1. I ___ (visit) my grandma tomorrow. Please give the answer." However, AI may hallucinate an answer if the exercise includes images or page-specific context. gateway a2 student book answers

It is important to distinguish between official and unofficial answer sources. Macmillan is increasingly moving toward digital ecosystems

The latter exist in a legal gray area. Distributing copyrighted answer keys violates the publisher’s (Macmillan Education) terms of use. While individual students are rarely sued, file-sharing sites hosting these materials are frequently hit with DMCA takedown notices. More importantly, schools that tolerate the sharing of answer keys risk violating academic integrity policies. The latter exist in a legal gray area

Some editions of Gateway A2 come with a code for the Student’s Resource Centre. While this does not always give full answers, it provides interactive versions of exercises that reveal the correct answer after a student has attempted the task.
