Post-update issues are widespread. Reports include:
Ezviz cameras (like the C1C, C3W, C6N, or DB1C) are known for regular firmware updates that add features or patch security holes. However, users often seek to downgrade for three main reasons:
Warning: Ezviz does not officially support downgrading. Doing so voids your warranty and can brick the camera if done incorrectly. ezviz downgrade firmware
This varies by model:
Method A (Most common): Press and hold the reset button (pinhole on the camera body) using a paperclip. While holding it, plug in the power. Keep holding for 15-20 seconds. The LED will flash amber/red rapidly, then turn solid green or slow blink.
Method B (No reset button):
Simply power on the camera with the SD card inserted. Some models automatically check the SD root for digicap.dav on boot.
Method C (C6N/C6T series): Insert SD card, power on, wait for the voice prompt "Upgrading, do not power off." The upgrade takes 3-10 minutes
Power off the camera, remove the microSD card (otherwise it will attempt to flash again on next boot), and delete digicap.dav from the card. Power the camera back on and perform a factory reset via the Ezviz app to clear residual settings.
Note: This works for most Ezviz cameras that use Hikvision's underlying protocol.
