Enature Pageant

If you are interested in joining this movement, here is a step-by-step guide:

  • Disqualify entries that accept sponsorships or materials made from endangered-species products.
  • Require contestants to submit a one-page sustainability plan prior to the event.

  • Contestants submit a portfolio of 5 to 10 original photos of natural landscapes or wildlife. Judging is based on composition, lighting, and the story behind the image. A photo of a common squirrel might beat a photo of a rare tiger if the squirrel’s photo tells a compelling story of urban adaptation. enature pageant

This is the closest link to traditional pageants, but with a twist. Contestants must create a "gown" or "suit" entirely from recycled, upcycled, or foraged materials. A dress made of fallen autumn leaves, a suit woven from discarded fishing nets, or a crown fashioned from old bottle caps. The walk is done on a forest trail or a beach, not a stage. The eNature Pageant is an annual, eco-digital competition that “crowns” the most stunning, resilient, or charismatic species, ecosystems, or natural phenomena. Think Miss Universe, but for a waterfall, a rare orchid, a bioluminescent bay, or a clouded leopard. Contestants are nominated by scientists, photographers, and the public, then “presented” through immersive media. Contestants submit a portfolio of 5 to 10

Tagline: “Beauty with a heartbeat. Elegance with an ecosystem.”

Perhaps the most important category. Contestants must provide proof of a completed conservation project. This could be planting 100 trees, organizing a river clean-up, or building a pollinator garden. The winner is often the contestant who mobilized the most volunteers.
