If you downloaded the ZIP file from GitHub, here is how to install the updated version without breaking Terraria. Back up your vanilla Terraria: Copy the Terraria

Back up your vanilla Terraria: Copy the Terraria.exe to your desktop. You need this to play vanilla later.

Extract the 1449 ZIP: Use 7-Zip or WinRAR.

Overwrite the files: Copy the contents of the ZIP into your Terraria folder. Overwrite any existing files.

Run: Launch tModLoader.exe (or Terraria.exe – this will now be tModLoader).

Pro tip: Rename your original Terraria.exe to Vanilla.exe and rename tModLoader.exe to Terraria.exe. This lets Steam think it is always running the right version.
