Even with the patched driver, you may encounter problems. Here is the fix matrix.

For the old 802.11n/g Alfa cards:

This is the most critical section. Simply downloading the patched driver is not enough. You must disable Driver Signature Enforcement (for RTL8187L/RTL8188RU) because patched drivers are not Microsoft-signed.

Here is a hard truth: If you need to download a patched driver for Windows, you are fighting an uphill battle.

Recommendation: Use the patched Windows driver only if you are forced to use a locked-down corporate laptop. Otherwise, dual-boot Kali Linux or use a Raspberry Pi with your Alfa adapter.
