Every time your printer runs a cleaning cycle or flushes print heads, a small amount of ink is expelled into a felt pad at the bottom of the printer. To prevent an overflow disaster, the printer's internal software counts every drop of ink purged. Once it hits a pre-determined limit, the printer stops working and displays an error.
