Set on a crashed shipping vessel on a tropical island, Cove is a sniper’s paradise with a twist. The central shipwreck offers high ground, but the flanking routes via the water are deadly due to sharks patrolling the shallows (a cosmetic but terrifying hazard).
Buried features a hedge maze on the surface. Without the Remington New Model Army (a powerful revolver that requires aiming down sights), the maze is a death trap. With it, it becomes the highest-round camping spot in Black Ops 2 history.
Grief Mode: Buried reintroduced "Grief" (4v4 Zombies), where you could sabotage the other team by luring the Warden into their training spots. It was chaotic, toxic, and absolutely brilliant.
While the multiplayer maps were solid, the Zombies mode is often why players search for the Call Of Duty Black Ops 2 II Vengeance Pack DLC years later.
Buried is the third map in the "Victis" storyline (following TranZit and Die Rise). It transports the four characters (Marlton, Misty, Russman, and Stuhlinger) to an abandoned, sunken Wild West town beneath an Angolan city.
If you are playing Black Ops II on backwards compatibility or just revisiting the disc on your Xbox 360/PS3, the Vengeance DLC is the non-negotiable download.
