The North American Numbering Plan (NANP) governs phone numbers in the US, Canada, and several other territories. As of 2026, the US has over 350 active area codes, with new ones introduced every 12–18 months (e.g., 943 in Georgia, 840 in California). Therefore, an updated American numbers program typically sources data directly from the Number Portability Administration Center (NPAC) or from carriers' LERG (Local Exchange Routing Guide) databases, refreshed every 24–48 hours. 943 in Georgia

NPA = area code, NXX = central office code. The US numbering system allocates blocks of 10,000 numbers (NPA-NXX-XXXX). You can download free weekly snapshots from National Numbering Plan administrators (e.g., numberingplans.com or carrier LERG data under non-commercial license).

Philosophy

WinEpi 2.0 has been designed as a cooperative platform in order to provide epidemiological tools to scientific and academic community. For this reason it is important to strengthen the self-learning ability including with step-by-step guidelines and solved examples. Functions and examples will be available in different languages and everybody could submit proposal to implement new formulae, to suggest examples and to collaborate as translators.
