Bltools — V2.2

Previous versions of bltools executed tasks sequentially or via static thread pools. bltools v2.2 introduces an adaptive engine that analyzes the size of incoming data and the available memory of the host machine. It dynamically adjusts the degree of parallelism (DOP). For example, a workload of 10,000 small files will run differently than ten 10GB files. Early benchmarks suggest a 40% reduction in total load time for mixed workloads compared to v2.1.

While earlier versions handled CSV, JSON, and XML, v2.2 adds native readers/writers for Apache Avro and Apache ORC. This is a game-changer for users working in Hadoop or Spark ecosystems, enabling seamless data exchange. bltools v2.2

BLTools v2.2 is a hypothetical (or unspecified) software/toolkit for bioinformatics data processing, batch-logistics, build/bioluminescence analysis, or another domain abbreviated BL—this document assumes BLTools is a command-line bioinformatics toolkit for read processing, alignment post-processing, and basic variant filtering. The paper describes architecture, components, file formats, algorithms, performance characteristics, usage patterns, API, extensibility, testing, and a migration path from earlier versions. The v2.2 update is not just a minor patch—it’s a feature-rich release. Here are the highlights:

If you are already using bltools, upgrading requires careful planning. Here is a safe migration path.
