Ancient Castle Nudist

Germany has a strong Freikörperkultur (FKK) culture. While you can't usually tour Neuschwanstein naked, many lesser-known castles or castle-adjacent parklands host events or are located near established FKK hiking trails.

Not everyone applauds the ancient castle nudist movement. Heritage preservationists worry about skin oils and sweat on unprotected stonework (though most sites require towels on seating). Local religious groups in rural Spain and Italy have protested “pagan exhibitionism” at holy relics housed in castle chapels.
