The title Adhuri Aas translates to “Incomplete/Unfulfilled Hope or Desire.”
The film follows a middle-aged man, Raghav, who returns to his ancestral village in the Himalayan foothills after his younger sister’s mysterious disappearance. He discovers that locals attribute a string of missing persons to a Pishachini (a flesh-eating female spirit) or a Churel—a woman who died with an intense, unfulfilled longing (often related to motherhood, love, or revenge).
Raghav must uncover the unfinished business of the spirit before it claims his family.
🕵️ Observation Tip: Notice who refuses to speak the spirit’s name. In folk horror, naming = summoning.
