It followed similar titles like Dhangya (Marathi, 2020) and preceded Chhorii (2021 on Amazon Prime) but lacked the latter’s production quality.

The story follows Kabir (played by Mridul Madhav), a skeptic who doesn’t believe in the supernatural. To prove his point to his paranormal-obsessed friend Neil (Ashwin), he organizes a "lock-in" challenge. Joining them are Riya (Monalisa Bagal), Sam (Swaroopa Ghosh), and Aditya (Kartikey Anand).

As the clock ticks closer to midnight, strange occurrences begin: furniture moves on its own, whispers echo through empty hallways, and one by one, the friends start seeing visions of their darkest secrets. The film cleverly uses the "real-time" gimmick, where the second half of the movie unfolds in the 60 minutes leading up to 12 AM. The question is not whether the ghost exists, but why it is tied to that specific hour.

Unlike typical Hindi films, "12 O’Clock" has no musical songs. The soundtrack comprises ambient drones, creaking clock mechanisms, and a recurring lullaby played on a music box in reverse. Sound designer Sanket Naik used binaural recording techniques for the 5.1 mix to simulate whispers coming from behind the viewer’s head.
